IPL is a photo facial used to improve the colour and texture of your skin. This treatment can reverse damage caused by aging and sun exposure to all body areas, mainly the face, neck, chest, and hands. Reasons for treating with IPL can include age and sunspots, freckles, rosacea, and broken blood vessels.
How does it work?
IPL is light therapy used to target discolouration on your skin, such as brown or red spots, as well as vascular lesions such as spider veins or broken capillaries. IPL leaves your skin looking more even in tone, resulting in an overall healthier image.
How long is the treatment?
The treatment length varies depending on the area being treated. Generally, treatment time ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour after the initial consultation.
How long will my results last?
Result longevity will depend on what condition was treated, what area was treated and how well you maintain results with sunscreen or other post-treatment care. This will be discussed thoroughly at your consultation.
Downtime
Although downtime ranges for everyone, there is generally little to no downtime with IPL. Some redness and tingling post-treatment are expected for a few days, if at all. Sunspots can become darker as they are healing; this is normal.
